Ukraine Strikes Russian Space Communications Hub: Defense Forces Expand Target List.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces in Action
According to UATV: On June 22, Ukraine’s Defense Forces launched strikes on key Russian military assets, including a space communications center in the Moscow region and a training ground for drone operators. These operations followed initial attacks on strategic targets that began the previous day, June 21.
Targets Hit
Among the sites struck was the 'Dubna' space communications center in the Moscow region. Also hit was a drone operator training facility near Debaltseve in the Luhansk region. Additional strikes targeted:
- Drone control centers near Myrnohrad and Perebudova in Donetsk region;
- Command and observation posts near Ilek-Penkovka in Russia’s Belgorod region;
- Positions in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region.
Furthermore, a road bridge near Vasylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region—used for troop movements—was damaged. The port of 'Kavkaz' in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai was also targeted on June 21, where two car ferries were hit. These actions mark a continuation of active military operations in areas under Russian control.
These strikes could significantly hinder Russian forces’ operational capabilities by disrupting key communications and drone operator training, complicating the management of unmanned systems. The ongoing operations since June 21 suggest an escalation in military activity from both sides, likely in preparation for the next phases of the conflict. Observers continue to monitor developments closely as the front-line situation remains tense, with potential retaliatory strikes from Russia.
