Evacuation from Israel to Ukraine

According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel, Yevhen Korniichuk, has assessed the security situation in the country, commenting on the number of Ukrainians seeking evacuation and the aftermath of the Iranian attacks. As of the evening of March 2, the embassy had no information regarding Ukrainian casualties resulting from the hostilities. At the time of his statement, there were 25 requests from Ukrainians wishing to be evacuated.

On February 28, Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised its citizens against travel to both Israel and Iran. Regional tensions remain high after Tehran launched 270 missiles and drones against Israel. These attacks resulted in 11 fatalities and over 140 injuries. On the evening of March 1, one Iranian missile struck near Jerusalem, wounding five people.

Is Evacuation from Israel Necessary?

According to Ambassador Yevhen Korniichuk,

"In my view, there is no urgent need for evacuation at this time, as the border crossing to Egypt is operating 24/7."
However, he noted that if the number of people seeking to leave Israel exceeds one hundred, the embassy will engage private companies to organize special flights.

This advisory comes amid a broader pattern of regional instability. Military actions are ongoing, and the threat to civilians persists. Consequently, Ukrainian citizens in the region are receiving safety guidance and information on potential routes home.

Given the volatile situation, Ukrainian nationals are advised to monitor news closely and follow all embassy recommendations. While an immediate evacuation is not currently deemed urgent, the security landscape could shift rapidly, necessitating preparedness for potential changes. The number of inquiries received highlights the concern among Ukrainians in Israel and their readiness to act should the conflict escalate further.
