SBU destroyed two Su-27 fighters in Crimea: the cost of the destruction is 70 million dollars

According to ТСН: Long-range drones of the SBU's Alpha special operations center hit two Su-27 aircraft that were at the Russian military airfield Belbek in Crimea. The estimated cost of the destroyed aircraft is approximately 70 million dollars.

It was noted that one of the aircraft was on the taxiway with a full combat load and was ready for a combat sortie. This fighter was destroyed. The damage to the control tower was also confirmed, which may complicate the organization and control of flights of the occupying forces at the airfield.

“This is already the second successful attack by the SBU on Belbek airfield in recent days,” said the SBU.

On December 18, the SBU drones struck Russian equipment at this airfield, with an estimated value in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Two Nebo-SVU radars, the 92N6 radar from the S-400 Triumph air defense system, the Pantsir-S2 air defense system and a MiG-31 with a full combat load were destroyed.

“SBU strikes on key military airfields, as well as the destruction of enemy aircraft and air defense systems in temporarily occupied Crimea, significantly reduce its military potential in the region. This systematic work will continue,” the SBU press service stated.

It was also reported that overnight on December 19, the Ukrainian defense forces successfully struck the Russian military ship Project 22460 “Okhotnik,” which was patrolling the Caspian Sea near the oil and gas platform.

Furthermore, SBU aerial drones destroyed a Russian tanker located 2000 km from Ukraine. The tanker QENDIL was in neutral waters of the Mediterranean Sea and was used by Russia to circumvent sanctions, generating profits for the war effort.

These SBU strikes indicate active actions by Ukrainian forces in response to Russia's military aggression. The destruction of equipment and the reduction of the enemy's combat potential underline the ways to identify and neutralize threats in the region. The unfolding events point to the continuation of the conflict and the necessity of maintaining strategic control over air and maritime areas.
