Mykola Malomuzh Weighs In

In a statement on June 7, 2023, General of the Army of Ukraine Mykola Malomuzh argued that Russia lacks the resources to fight a prolonged war. He noted that Putin

is suffering defeats, resources are running out, and international support is virtually nonexistent
- Mykola Malomuzh. Malomuzh also emphasized that Putin likely wants Ukraine to give up Donbas and other territories, which would allow him to present this as a victory.

The general highlighted Ukraine's strategic potential, pointing to support from Europe and cooperation with the United States. In doing so, he underscored Ukraine's ability to resist Russian aggression, despite the Kremlin's stance.

Putin's refusal to meet with Zelenskyy signals that Moscow has no intention of seeking diplomatic solutions to the conflict. This suggests the Kremlin is doubling down on military tactics, even as international pressure mounts. On the other hand, Malomuzh's comments reflect Ukraine's hope for continued backing from Western allies, which could prove decisive on the battlefield going forward.
