Changes in electricity tariffs for some consumers

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has changed the electricity tariffs for the category of consumers who use electric heating systems to heat their premises. According to the statement by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, consumers who exceed the limit of 2,000 kWh will pay the full tariff of 4.32 UAH per kWh for each additional kilowatt-hour. Those who consume electricity within the limit will be charged a preferential tariff of 2.64 UAH per kWh.

'During the heating season, the state has ensured the stability of the electricity tariff for the population at the level of 4.32 UAH per kWh. A preferential tariff of 2.64 UAH is also provided for those who use electric heating systems. Previously, this preferential tariff applied to those who consumed up to 2,000 kWh of electricity per month. However, there are many people who consume more than this limit and are forced to pay the full tariff,' Shmyhal explained.

To avoid such situations, the government has adopted a resolution on the differentiation of the preferential tariff through special obligations. According to the Prime Minister, this decision is part of a comprehensive support for Ukrainians that the government provides in winter and plans to continue after the end of the heating season.
