Ukrainians in Poland face important changes: who will have to confirm their stay.

Ukrainian citizens living in Poland will be required to confirm their stay in the country. This was reported on the website visitukraine.today.
According to official data as of January 2025, nearly one million Ukrainians live in Poland. However, the analytical center CenEA believes this number may actually be 30-40% higher.
In this regard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poland plans to change the status of Ukrainians from 'temporary protection' to 'temporary stay'. This will mean that Ukrainian citizens will have to personally visit local administrative offices (gminas) to confirm their stay in the country.
Additionally, Ukrainians will need to officially register their departure from Poland if they intend to leave the country or move to another European Union country.
If refugees do not confirm their stay, they may be deprived of social assistance and other benefits. The government emphasizes that these changes are not aimed at limiting rights, but at ensuring transparency and equitable distribution of resources.
It should be noted that after the war ends, one of the European countries will not accept Ukrainian refugees.
