Ukrainian intelligence launched a cyberattack on Lukoil on New Year's Eve – media.

Experts of the Main Intelligence Directorate conducted another cyberattack on the Russian oil sector from December 30 to January 1, 2025. This was reported by 'Suspilne' citing sources in the special services.

The main target of the attack was the resources of the oil company 'Lukoil', which supplies the occupiers. Due to the attack, the company's digital resources were damaged, depriving customers of the ability to pay for petroleum products through the mobile application at gas stations.

Digital resources of smart terminals 'Evotor' (website, personal user account, mobile application, cash payment system) and the digital labeling system 'Chesnyy znak' were also affected.

The DDoS attack caused significant inconvenience and losses in the trading sector, as consumers could not purchase goods due to payment system problems.

The largest cyberattack on Ukraine's registers

Let us recall that on the eleventh day after the largest hacker attack by the Russians, the first three registers in Ukraine were restored.

As reported by 'Glavcom', due to problems in the functioning of some state registers, service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs temporarily suspended the provision of vehicle registration services, particularly removing vehicles from registration.

Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna reported that the largest external cyberattack on state registers of Ukraine recently occurred.

Deputy Director of the YouControl analytical system for legal issues Danilo Globa noted in a comment to 'Glavcom' that this situation negatively affects the work of many state and non-state systems that use register data.

Earlier, the Ministry of Justice predicted timelines for the restoration of state registers after the cyberattack.
