Ukraine’s Sweetheart Drone Undergoes Enemy Rear Combat Trials: Key Details on the New System.
Introducing the Sweetheart Reconnaissance UAV
According to UATV: Ukraine’s latest reconnaissance drone, the Sweetheart, is now undergoing live combat testing, specifically engineered for deep operations behind enemy lines. The system was first announced on June 24. With a flight range of up to 150 kilometers, this unmanned aerial vehicle serves as a powerful asset for intelligence gathering. It can remain airborne for as long as three hours and operate at a maximum altitude of 900 meters.
Core Features and Strategic Advantages
A standout trait of the Sweetheart is its acoustic stealth capability, allowing it to fly at roughly 50 meters above ground level without being detected. This makes it especially valuable for missions deep within hostile territory. Furthermore, its production cost is 6 to 10 times lower than comparable drones, which could dramatically reduce operational and sustainment expenses.
- Flight range: up to 150 km
- Flight endurance: up to 3 hours
- Maximum operating altitude: up to 900 meters
- Acoustic stealth at approximately 50 meters altitude
- Cost: 6–10 times cheaper than similar systems
Serial production of the Sweetheart is expected to begin soon, which would greatly enhance Ukrainian forces’ reconnaissance capabilities. In addition, the upgraded FP-1 drone, boasting a range of 2,700 kilometers, was showcased at the Eurosatory-2026 exhibition, signaling continued progress in Ukraine’s unmanned aerial technology sector.
The development and deployment of new UAVs like the Sweetheart represent a critical step in strengthening Ukraine’s defense posture. Thanks to its low observability and cost-effectiveness, this drone could play a major role in modern reconnaissance strategies, particularly in contemporary conflict environments. Ongoing improvements to drone technology—including the FP-1—underscore Ukraine’s active commitment to advancing its military capabilities in response to external threats.
