The Warrior Voodoo defended himself in Vovchansk during the war

According to inkorr.com: The soldier of the 57th Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Kosty Hordiienko, call sign Voodoo 173, defended his position in Vovchansk, recently liberated from occupation, for 173 days. He was supported with food and ammunition delivered from heavy bombers, as the area was heavily destroyed, but he did not give up.

In his account, Voodoo describes how the stormtroopers cleared the territory of enemy forces, while his group remained in position to repel the attacks of the occupiers. Everything around was destroyed, and he had to hide and move among the ruins. Despite the harsh conditions, letters from his loved ones, delivered by drones, kept his morale high.

"There are only ruins, there is nowhere to hide. Every day I had to move through the breaks. Only the dead are around. Bodies lay everywhere. The Russians tried to storm us almost every day. There were many corpses near our position, and we had to walk among them, they were already stinking... It was very hard. Deep in my heart, I feel sorry, but you understand that they came to my home," said the warrior.

Voodoo also emphasized the importance of letters from loved ones for maintaining moral strength during difficult conditions at the front. He recommends other soldiers to ask their relatives and friends to write to them at the front for support.

Choice from captivity

Unfortunately, not all soldiers can hold their positions as long as Voodoo. One of his comrades managed to escape from captivity and warn others about the threat of an enemy attack.

This story demonstrates the unbreakable bond among comrades and their indomitable spirit even in the most difficult circumstances. Situations like this highlight the greatness of human willpower and the importance of support from home. The information about the resilience of Ukrainian fighters in their struggle against the enemy testifies to the indomitable spirit of the nation and its determination to defend freedom.
