Ukrainian drivers were told about "9 unwritten rules".
Drivers emphasize the importance of adhering to unwritten rules
The online driving school "Time" released a video highlighting the significance of adhering to unwritten rules for drivers. Experts claim that the official Traffic Rules are not sufficient for safe road behavior.
"During driving school training, instructors do not pay enough attention to explaining unwritten rules, focusing only on following traffic rules. But without these rules, you will find it difficult on the road," the video authors point out.
"Unfortunately, during driving school training, some points are not explained by instructors, emphasizing only following traffic rules. But without unwritten rules, it will be difficult for you on the road," the video authors note.
The first rule concerns expressing gratitude: "Thank the drivers who gave you the way." Experts advise expressing gratitude with a gesture or turning on the hazard lights briefly.
The second rule calls for avoiding road rage. "Many driving instructors in driving schools teach future drivers not to pay attention to other road users. The main thing, in their opinion, is unconditional compliance with traffic rules," the authors criticize such an approach, emphasizing the importance of considering the general traffic flow.
The third rule concerns parking. "Park with consideration for others, thinking about the common good," recommend experts, urging drivers to park precisely along the marking lines.
The fourth rule warns against sharply starting on a green light. "Do not rush to start as soon as the green light comes on, especially at intersections," the authors warn.
The fifth rule calls for agreement with other drivers: "Let others know that you are yielding." Experts recommend using flashing high beams or gestures to express their intentions clearly.
The sixth rule focuses on communication between drivers: "Let others know that you are yielding." Experts recommend using flashing high beams or gestures to express their intentions clearly.
The seventh rule reminds about caution at pedestrian crossings and in courtyards: "When driving through a yard, residential or pedestrian area and approaching a pedestrian crossing, reduce speed to a minimum."
The eighth rule warns against picking up items from the car floor while driving: "If you accidentally drop a phone, glasses, bag, or other items on the floor while driving, do not attempt to retrieve them while on the move."
The ninth rule warns about special attention when interacting with trucks: "The biggest mistake is changing lanes in front of a truck or other large vehicle from the right side."
The video authors urge viewers to share their own experiences and additional unwritten rules in the comments.
