The Director of the OES of Ukraine, Vitaliy Zaychenko, reported that three years ago the Russians attempted to obstruct the synchronization of the Ukrainian and European energy systems. The enemies spread information about the threat of voltage spikes in the Ukrainian network due to synchronization with ENTSO-E and urged the population to turn off all electrical appliances.
If Ukrainians had believed and turned off their appliances, it could have caused significant problems for the Ukrainian energy system.
As a result of such panic, the power level in the country could have fallen, Zaychenko emphasized.
