Zelensky Discussed Important Issues During a Visit to Volyn and Rivne Regions

President Volodymyr Zelensky made a working visit to the Volyn and Rivne regions on July 30, 2024, where he discussed a number of important issues and made several key statements.

In the Volyn region, the president focused on security and border reinforcement. He noted that much work had already been done regarding the fortification and mining of the northern border of the country, including the Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, and Chernihiv regions. However, the military was assigned a few more important tasks.

Zelensky also drew attention to energy, social, and educational issues. He emphasized the need to ensure normal learning conditions for children in the new school year, where possible due to shelters. The government was instructed to expedite assistance in building shelters.

Concerning energy, the president emphasized the opportunities for creating new generations in most regions. He mentioned existing loan and grant programs, as well as support from partners, which can help communities ensure greater energy capacity.

At the state level, work continues on protecting energy facilities. Zelensky stressed the need to meet all deadlines for the facilities and noted that this would affect staffing issues.

The president also discussed the development of the economy and transport capabilities of the Volyn region, particularly regarding border transit. He instructed the region and the government to prepare appropriate steps and decisions.

In the Rivne region, Zelensky visited a hospital treating wounded soldiers and expressed gratitude to the medical staff for their work.

During the visit, a regional meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities took place, where the president thanked community leaders and Ukrainian companies for preserving and creating jobs, as well as all citizens who help the state.
