Ukrposhta introduces 'weightless' tariffs for parcel delivery: what it means for customers.
Starting from January 1, 2025, Ukrposhta is changing its approach to the pricing of domestic parcels. According to the new rules, the delivery price will be determined based on the size of the box, rather than the weight of the parcel as it was before. This is the first Time such a system is applied in Ukraine.
This change became possible after the company fully automated its sorting system in 2024. The weight of the parcel is still relevant for checking and sorting but does not affect the delivery cost.
Tariffs will be calculated based on the volume of the box rather than depending on the weight of the parcel. Ukrposhta is introducing two tariff plans: 'Basic' and 'Priority'. Parcels processed under the 'Priority' tariff will be delivered faster and have a shorter delivery time, while the 'Basic' tariff will be available at a more attractive price.
This new pricing system allows quickly determining the cost of delivery without considering the weight of the parcel. Customers only need to know the size of the box to resolve this issue. Such an approach has already been successfully implemented in global logistics companies like FedEx and UPS.
The new Ukrposhta tariffs have been named 'weightless tariffs' as they do not depend on the weight of the parcel. The company guarantees the most competitive prices in the market and provides simplified cost calculation and automated sorting for the convenience of its customers.
The CEO of Ukrposhta, Ihor Smiliansky, urged customers to check the new approach and see its advantages.
Ukrposhta and Nova Poshta have already published their holiday schedules for Christmas and New Year.
