Over 10 Odesa Beach Zones Certified and Ready for Summer Season.
Odesa Beaches Gear Up for Summer
According to Novyny.live: Odesa is pushing ahead with preparations for the summer season. As of June 8, 2023, more than ten beach locations have received official readiness certificates. Inspections along the coastline covered beaches at the 16th, 15th, 14th, 12th, 11th, and 10th stations of the Velykyi Fontan area, as well as in the popular Arcadia district.
Among the verified spots at the 16th station of Velykyi Fontan are the beaches:
- 'Zolotyi Bereh'
- 'Karma'
- 'Varadero'
At the 15th station lies 'Beach-15', while the 14th station hosts 'Kuba'. Further down, the 12th station offers the 'Public' beach for relaxation. The municipal inclusive beach and the 11th station are also ready to welcome visitors. The 10th station includes a municipal beach and 'Chaika', while Arcadia features two beaches from the 'Red Line' complex and one from the 'Portofino' complex. Additionally, 'La Kambala' beach is located on Malyi Fontan, and at 'Dolphin' beach, 'Kaleton' and the inclusive 'Bezmezh' beach are operational.
Safety Measures and Environmental Concerns
To enhance visitor safety, eight mobile certified shelters have been ordered and are being installed as part of the seasonal preparations. Both 'Dolphin' beach and the 11th station of Velykyi Fontan are now fully inclusive, ensuring accessibility for all groups of people.
However, the run-up to summer is not without its challenges. The National Nature Park 'Tuzlivski Lymany' has recorded the deaths of 22 dolphins, raising alarm among ecologists and local residents. This underscores the need to balance beach readiness with environmental stewardship and protection of regional wildlife.
Preserving the natural environment is a critical issue that cannot be overlooked, especially amid the active development of tourist infrastructure.
In summary, Odesa is actively preparing for the summer season, aiming to provide safe and comfortable conditions for beachgoers. At the same time, the dolphin mortality situation highlights the urgent need to address ecological concerns that could impact both the quality of recreation and the health of marine life.
