Ukrzaliznytsia Launches First 'Resilience Hub' in Poland, Serving Over 100 Passengers Daily.
First 'Resilience Hub' Opens in Poland
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's state railway operator, Ukrzaliznytsia, has inaugurated its first 'Resilience Hub' on Polish soil, which served more than one hundred passengers on its opening day. This facility was established to provide comfortable waiting conditions for travelers during the ongoing reconstruction of the Chełm station, a project that began in 2024. These hubs are a key part of the railway's strategy to maintain service continuity during wartime and infrastructure upgrades.
Special passenger carriages have been installed on the station's third platform. The Chełm station is a critical transport link, connecting Ukraine with Warsaw, Berlin, and Łódź. With up to three thousand people passing through Chełm daily, the new hub's role in supporting passenger flow is significant.
Connecting with European Rail Networks
The project's launch was formally announced by Ukrzaliznytsia's press service. Within Ukraine, the company has already deployed 97 such 'Resilience Hubs' at railway stations, demonstrating its commitment to reliable and comfortable passenger service under challenging circumstances. Ukrzaliznytsia is also transitioning to imported electricity, a shift that may affect future company operations and projects.
