Overhaul of Mobilization Deferment Rules

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine has eliminated the need for a military medical commission (MMC) to secure a draft deferment for employees. This change follows the cabinet's revision of eligibility criteria for businesses deemed critical. Now, certain enterprises can exempt all 100% of their conscription-eligible staff, significantly streamlining the process for these organizations.

Under the updated regulations, workers who already qualify for a legal postponement will be granted only one deferment. Additionally, to be eligible for the exemption, an employee's salary must be nearly 26,000 hryvnias—another condition that must be met to obtain protected status.

“Legally, the absence of an MMC requirement currently does not affect the ability to receive a deferment. If you apply through the 'Diia' system, it will definitely go through.”

Vyacheslav Kyrda

The revised deferment criteria apply specifically to companies operating critical infrastructure, underscoring the importance of sustaining these organizations under current circumstances. This decision aims to ensure stability in key sectors vital to the national economy.

Government Adjusts to Needs of Critical Industries

These changes to mobilization deferment procedures reflect the government's adaptation to the needs of critical sectors. Simplifying the process is intended to preserve workforce capacity in strategic industries, which could positively impact Ukraine's economic situation. Amid the war, supporting such enterprises is a key factor in maintaining stability and security within the country.
