The government will allocate 1.5 billion for the protection of the Chernobyl sarcophagus.
The government plans to allocate over 1.5 billion UAH for the support of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant shelter, which was attacked by drones, said Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. He noted that Russia is trying to provoke fear among the Ukrainian, European, and global public with such actions. The radiation threat has been eliminated, but work continues to eliminate the consequences of the attack. The government is increasing funding by 139 million UAH compared to last year. It is also planned to obtain a 400 million euro loan from the European Investment Bank for energy-efficient recovery. As a result of the attack, the external cladding of the shelter and the connection nodes of the upper part of the maintenance structure were damaged.
