UZ listened to the complaints of passengers — allowing ticket purchases.
Ukrzaliznytsia responded to passenger concerns and changed its plans regarding mandatory verification through Diia.Signature for purchasing tickets for certain trains. Starting from August 1, the new measures will be implemented only for some routes, not for all as previously announced.
Specifically, verification through Diia.Signature will become mandatory for trains No. 29/30 Kyiv — Uzhhorod, No. 12 Lviv — Odesa, and No. 27/28 Kyiv — Chop.
Where Diia.Signature will be required
Instead of five routes, the new measures will apply to only three. From August 1, 2025, verification through Diia.Signature will only be required for passengers planning to travel on these trains.
'We listened to passengers and changed the number of routes for which we are introducing verification through Diia.Signature in test mode from August 1. This is necessary to prevent abuse and combat ticket speculation',
UZ tickets at the box office
There will also be an option to purchase tickets for the specified routes at the ticket offices. Since not everyone has a new-style passport or a mobile app for verification, passengers will need to contact the listed ticket offices:
- in Chop — box office No. 2;
- in Uzhhorod — box office No. 2;
- in Lviv — box office No. 1;
- in Odesa — box offices No. 14 and No. 2;
- in Kyiv — box offices No. 21 and 22.
The testing period is currently underway, during which Ukrzaliznytsia will analyze the effectiveness of the new measures and decide whether to expand the verification practice to other popular trains.
What else is important for Ukrainians to know
Recently, Ukrzaliznytsia has intensified document checks at train stations following numerous passenger complaints. Additionally, military security has been brought in to enhance safety and combat fraud.
It is also noteworthy that Ukrzaliznytsia's decision to introduce verification through Diia.Signature for purchasing tickets for some trains caused outrage among Ukrainians, who expressed their dissatisfaction on social media.
After the outrage from passengers, Ukrzaliznytsia made changes to the implementation of mandatory verification through Diia.Signature for train ticket purchases, limiting this practice to only certain routes. It also provided the option to buy tickets at the box office for those lacking the necessary documents or app. Ukrzaliznytsia is conducting a testing period to determine further possible changes in this system.Read also
