In Dnipro, generators are being delivered to high-rise buildings: how the city is fighting the consequences of shelling.
According to ТСН: After the attack from Russia, energy companies are still unable to restore electricity supply in many areas of the left bank of Dnipro. Local authorities are taking emergency measures, starting to deliver mobile generators directly to residential buildings.
The mayor of Dnipro, Boris Filatov, noted that due to the recent shelling of the energy infrastructure, companies are unable to restore electricity supply in several areas.
«We are simply delivering mobile generators directly to the buildings and connecting high-rise buildings directly»
Despite the freezing temperatures of -12 degrees, energy workers continue to work, forced to endure the cold. They have been without sleep for more than 72 hours.
«We are doing everything we can»
Filatov also addressed local residents, noting that he understands the difficulties they are facing. He emphasized the importance of having heat and water during these challenging times.
«Dear Dnipro residents, those of you who still do not have electricity. I know it is hard. But please understand: given the situation, the main thing is that you have heat and water. And we will definitely come up with something to address everything else»
Reason for outages in Dnipro
The Dnipropetrovsk region experienced power outages on January 7 due to a Russian attack. Restoration work for heating and water supply has begun in the region.
Filatov previously reported that as a result of the shelling, about 800 thousand families were left without electricity. Energy workers prioritized restoring electricity supply to hospitals and sewage systems. Schools extended their breaks, and kindergartens switched to a shortened work schedule.
During this difficult time, local authorities are doing everything possible to support residents. Restoring electricity and heating supply is a priority not only for energy companies but also for the entire community, which is experiencing these difficult trials. The situation has intensified efforts at the local level to prepare for winter cold and ensure the functionality of the city.
