The National Police Department in Odesa region reports that police detained a 21-year-old resident of Podilskyi district in Odesa, who was trading illegal combat munitions. Police received information about his intention to sell such ammunition.
It was established that the suspect found a buyer for a grenade on the internet, with whom he mutually agreed to meet. As soon as the buyer handed over the money to the seller, the latter was detained
During the search, investigators seized a grenade body with a fuse. Studies showed that the seized items are explosive. Money obtained from the sale of munitions was also confiscated.
Currently, the suspect has been notified of suspicion of illegal acquisition, storage, and sale of combat munitions. For this crime, he faces up to 7 years of imprisonment. The issue of choosing a preventive measure of detention is being considered.
Recently, several similar explosions have occurred in Ukraine, resulting in deaths and injuries. Recently, a father and son died in Rivne region due to a grenade explosion. Also, an apartment exploded in Brovary, Kyiv region, resulting in a woman being injured.
