An incident occurred in the Odesa region that shocked many. A driver of a car ran over a dog on the road and simply drove away, leaving the animal without help. The dog died, and the driver has already been identified. He faces serious legal consequences.
The incident took place in the village of Velykodolynske, and the video of this horrific act spread on social media, attracting the attention of the police. Law enforcement established that the driver was a 53-year-old local resident who, according to witnesses, did not notice the dog and, when he realized what had happened, got scared and decided to flee.
This incident was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region on Sunday, July 13.
What punishment for hitting an animal
The driver's license was revoked, and now his case will be sent to court. The man may face a fine of up to 3400 hryvnias, a two-year suspension of his driving license, or administrative detention of up to 15 days.
As a result of hitting the dog, the driver lost his driving license and is awaiting the court's verdict, which may include a fine, license revocation, or detention for a certain period.
