Passenger Partially Sucked Out of Plane During Emergency Landing After Ryanair Flight Depressurization.
Ryanair Aircraft Forced Into Emergency Landing
According to Espreso.tv: A Ryanair jet traveling from Thessaloniki to Memmingen made an emergency landing after a window failure caused cabin depressurization. The incident unfolded mid-flight when one of the windows sustained damage, leading to a sudden drop in cabin pressure. Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang similar to an explosion, followed by oxygen masks dropping from the ceiling.
A passenger seated next to the affected window was partially pulled outside due to the depressurization. Chaos erupted in the cabin, with one female passenger recalling: 'We immediately knew it was depressurization. People started screaming. For a second, I thought someone had opened an emergency exit.' The aircraft returned to Thessaloniki, where one passenger required medical attention after landing.
Airline's Response
Ryanair arranged a replacement flight to Memmingen for passengers who needed to continue their journey. Aviation authorities in Greece and Malta will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
This event involving a Ryanair aircraft highlights the critical importance of aviation safety and may lead to stricter inspections of aircraft technical conditions. The investigation, led by aviation authorities, aims to determine what caused the window failure and prevent similar occurrences in the future. Incidents like this can undermine passenger confidence in airlines and the overall safety of air travel.
