According to ТСН: In Ukraine, due to Russia's attacks on power plants, people are forced to remain without electricity for up to 15–20 hours.
Statement by the Minister of Energy
The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Maxim Timchenko, reported this on social media.
“Another day, another attack by Russia on our energy infrastructure – this time on several thermal power plants of DTEK – which increases the strain on the system as temperatures fall below zero. In some regions, people are already living without electricity for up to 15–20 hours. Russia must be stopped. Thank you for drawing the world's attention to the critical energy situation in Ukraine this winter and our urgent appeal for international support regarding: 1. air defense; 2. replacement of equipment; 3. funding for restoration,”said the minister.
The situation in the energy system
It should be recalled that it was previously reported that due to massive shelling and the critical situation in the energy system, extended power outage schedules are being introduced in Ukraine.
This situation requires prompt action from the international community, as worsening weather conditions pose even greater challenges for the energy system. Ukrainians continue to face numerous power supply interruptions, and efforts to restore energy infrastructure remain more relevant than ever.
