Prices for canned fish have skyrocketed in Ukraine: how much are sprats, bullheads, and sardines.
Prices for canned fish rose in February
According to the Minfin portal, supermarkets raised prices for canned fish in February this year. Canned fish are popular products in Ukraine, people value their taste and nutritional properties, as well as their ease of preparation. These canned goods can be used as an addition to various dishes, from sandwiches to soups and pies.
According to Minfin data, prices for canned fish slightly increased in February. For example, the price of bullheads 'Akvamarin' in tomato sauce rose from 90.55 to 91.60 UAH, while the cost of sprats 'Akvamarin' in oil increased from 73.20 to 76.60 UAH.
However, regarding sardines, the situation is a bit different. The average price for natural sardines decreased to 64.95 UAH in February from January's price of 67.71 UAH. However, the price of sardines can vary in different retail chains: from 47.70 UAH in Megamarket to 71.99 UAH in Novus.
Therefore, consumers should expect a slight increase in prices for canned fish, but they can find optimal offers in various supermarkets.
