State Management of Seized Digital Assets in Ukraine

According to Espreso.tv: For the first time in Ukraine, seized virtual assets have been placed under state control. Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced the transfer of more than 8.3 million USDT, equivalent to over 372 million hryvnias. These funds were confiscated from the digital wallets of a member of an international hacking group.

Authorities estimate the total damages caused by this group exceed 100 million US dollars. As part of the investigation, four individuals have been arrested and are currently in custody. Additionally, assets valued at over 11.1 million US dollars have been seized, including:

  • residential and commercial real estate,
  • vehicles,
  • approximately 1 million US dollars in cash.

Cybercrime and Its Consequences

The cyber-extortion group FulcrumSec reportedly stole over 1.3 TB of data from the Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk. This incident highlights the severe threats posed by cybercrime and underscores the critical role of law enforcement in combating such offenses.
