Changes in the approval of public events

The Government of Ukraine has made changes to the procedure for coordinating mass events. Now, event organizers in Kyiv must obtain preliminary approval from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These changes have been implemented in accordance with the Prime Minister's order dated August 23, 2025.

According to inkorr.com: Yuliia Svyrydenko, the initiator of the changes, noted:

'Considering the requirements of the law on the legal regime of martial law, I request that in planning mass events, mandatory coordination with military commands in their area of responsibility be ensured, and in Kyiv – with the General Staff of the Armed Forces.'

Therefore, all event organizers must first obtain permission from the General Staff, and only then apply to the Kyiv City Military Administration. Similar rules are also being introduced in other regions of Ukraine, where it is necessary to coordinate events with the relevant military commands. The new requirements must be known to all interested parties and authorities.

These changes are aimed at ensuring safety during mass events under martial law in Ukraine. By ensuring coordination with the military, the government seeks to reduce risks and guarantee safety for participants in events.
