Subsidized mortgage 3% from October 1: who will be able to apply through Diia

The Ministry of Economy has announced that from October 1, applications for subsidized mortgages can be submitted through the Diia portal.

From now on, a subsidized loan at 3% for 20 years with an initial contribution of 20% will be available to beneficiaries: military personnel, security sector workers, medical staff, teachers, scientists.

'Employers of these categories of workers will compensate them for part of the loan and initial contribution from budget funds. Later, the program will become available to all Ukrainians whose living space does not exceed 52.5 sq. m + 21 sq. m for each family member,' the message says.

Within the framework of the Accessible Mortgage program, it will be possible to purchase housing up to 52.5 sq. m plus 21 sq. m for each family member in buildings no older than 10 years in regional centers. The cost of housing must correspond to the bank or appraiser's assessment.

  • The cost of 1 sq. m must not exceed the average cost of construction set by the Ministry of Regional Development for regional centers and cities with a population of over 100,000.
  • The housing must also be insured against damage or destruction.

Additionally, it was recently announced that loans in Ukraine will become more expensive due to the decision of the National Bank.

The National Bank of Ukraine made a decision to raise interest rates, which will lead to an increase in the cost of 'accessible' loans. The subsidized loan at 3% for 20 years with an initial contribution of 20% will be available to privileged categories of the population, such as military personnel, medical staff, teachers, and others.
