A new domestic mine clearance machine MR.5100 has appeared in Ukraine (photo).
Ukraine has introduced a new mechanized mine clearance machine MR.5100, developed in Kharkiv. This was reported by 'Militarny'.
The machine was created to eliminate all types of mines by destroying or detonating them in the ground at a depth of up to 30 cm. A chain device with hammers or a rotating cutter is used for this purpose.
Key specifications of the machine:
- weight - up to 17 tons;
- operational speed - on average from 0.5 to 1.5 km per hour;
- width of the cleaning strip - 2.5 m;
- engine with a power of 320 horsepower, consuming about 55 liters of fuel per hour.
The machine can operate for at least 4 hours on a single refueling. The operator controls it via a remote control at a distance of no less than 350 meters. The price of the machine is about 450 thousand euros.
Certification of this machine is planned for 2025. After that, the production of three to four units of MR.5100 per month is expected.
It was previously reported that the Ministry of Defense would involve women, veterans, and people with disabilities in mine clearance operations.
