In Ukraine, the duration of basic military training has been increased: what else will change for recruits.
Changes in military training in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced changes to the duration of military training, extending the term of basic general training from 49 to 51 days. The new program includes training to combat enemy drones, which is of great importance in the context of modern combat operations. A significant focus is also on developing basic training in the rear areas of brigades and enhancing the psychological readiness of military personnel.
'The duration of basic general training will be increased - to 51 days. Two additional days will be added for training soldiers to counter enemy strike drones,' Syrskyi noted.
Additionally, requirements for the placement of military equipment and personnel have been strengthened, prohibiting their accumulation and placement in tent cities. Major General Ihor Skybyuk, who was appointed as the new Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has taken responsibility for implementing the new training direction.
In the context of changes to basic military training, the emphasis on countering enemy drones and enhancing the psychological readiness of soldiers is a step forward in improving the effectiveness of strikes on the battlefield and ensuring the safety of service members.
