In Ukraine, prices for beef and lard have risen: how much they cost in Auchan, Metro, and Megamarket.
In February, prices for beef and lard in supermarkets in Ukraine have increased.
According to the Ministry of Finance, many buyers pay attention to the quality of food products and their health benefits. Beef and lard contain essential nutrients. Beef contains protein, iron, zinc, and B vitamins, making it a healthy product. Lard is a source of fat-soluble vitamins and fatty acids that support health.
At the end of February, the prices for the following products changed:
- Beef goulash: the current average price is 319.32 UAH/kg, which is 4.8% higher than the January price.
- Beef ribs: the current average price is 179.95 UAH/kg, which is 4.4% higher than the January price.
There was also a significant price difference between different retail chains. For example, in Auchan, the price for beef goulash was 283.90 UAH/kg, which is much lower than in Megamarket, where it costs 375.00 UAH/kg.
Prices for lard also differ:
- Homemade lard: the current average price is 234.00 UAH/kg, which has practically not changed compared to January.
- The price for homemade lard varies from 189.00 UAH/kg in Megamarket to 279.00 UAH/kg in Novus.
It is also worth noting that Auchan, Metro, and Varus have set new prices for cereals.
