Ukrainian children living in Poland may lose state aid

Since the beginning of the new accounting period, some Ukrainian children living in Poland may not receive state aid under the '800 Plus' program. Now, to receive these payments, one important condition must be met – attending Polish educational institutions.

This information was posted on the information portal InPoland.

The '800 Plus' program provides financial support to families with children under the age of 18, regardless of the family's income.

According to changes in the special law, which came into effect on July 1, 2024, starting from September 1, 2024, Ukrainian children living in Poland must study in Polish educational institutions. This applies to kindergartens, preparatory classes, schools, technical schools, and high schools.

'To receive assistance, it is important to attend Polish educational institutions,' stated the relevant Polish authorities. However, there are exceptions: children studying remotely in the final classes in Ukraine may retain their right to financial support without attending Polish schools.

Earlier, Poland expanded the social support program for Ukrainians with disabilities.
