Ukrainian Teachers to Receive 30% Pay Rise Starting 2026, Followed by Further Increase.
Major Salary Increases for Ukrainian Teachers
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian educators are set for a significant salary boost, with a 30% increase scheduled to begin on January 1, 2026. This measure, enacted by Decree No. 1749 on December 26, 2025, will be followed by a further 20% raise starting September 1, 2026. These raises are part of a broader government initiative to improve working conditions and attract talent to the education sector, which faces significant challenges.
Revised Allowances and Pay Scale Details
The new regulations eliminate a mandatory 10% supplement to the base salary. Instead, teachers will receive new allowances for working in difficult conditions:
- A 2,000 UAH allowance for all teachers;
- An increased 4,000 UAH allowance for educators working in frontline communities.
The minimum base rate for 2026 is set at 3,470 UAH.
School teachers fall under pay grades 10 through 14, with coefficients ranging from 1.82 to 2.42. Salaries will start from 8,841 UAH for grades 10-11, 10,298.40 UAH for grade 12, 11,027.80 UAH for grade 13, and 11,755.80 UAH for grade 14.
Payments must be made in full and on time—as always, based on the state educational subvention and additional payments from local self-government bodies.
