In the Ternopil region, a farewell was held for Mykhailo Koval, commander of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade battalion, who was killed in Donetsk. The 63rd OMBr stated that he led the Ternopil battalion, and along with him, the unit's artillery chief Volodymyr Koval and driver Roman Stashchuk also died.
Mykhailo Koval was a local council deputy and president of the 'Podillya' football club in his native village of Vasylkivtsi. The Ukrainian defender was laid to rest in this village.
According to the commander of the 63rd OMBr Pavlo Yurchuk, Mykhailo Koval was killed when a Russian drone hit his car in the Lyman community.
It is worth noting that together with him, on January 12, a fighter from the 92nd separate assault brigade named after Ivan Sirko and military journalist Ruslan Hanuščak were also killed.
Unfortunately, many other servicemen, including athletes Oleksandr Semeniuk and Andrii Mazanovych, have already lost their lives to war.
