Spring 2026 Threat: Moscow Eyes Ukraine's Bridges and Railways for Strikes.
Military Analyst's Forecast
According to TSN.ua: According to military analyst Roman Svitan, Russia is expected to ramp up attacks on Ukraine's logistical infrastructure by spring 2026. Key targets will include railways, highways, bridges, and traction substations. He argues that dismantling Ukraine's supply chains will become Moscow's primary objective during the spring and summer of 2026. There is also a looming risk of strikes on water supply systems and other infrastructure, a tactic designed to pressure the civilian population.
Indications of these preparations include ongoing Russian military drills and the redeployment of strategic bomber forces, suggesting a buildup for fresh offensives. On March 13, Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) issued a public warning about potential Russian attacks, noting that a massive strike could occur as early as March 14–15.
Assets at Risk
The threatened assets encompass vital transport corridors and the infrastructure that sustains daily life in the country. As Svitan explains,
“Russia will target water supply and similar infrastructure facilities to exert pressure on society.”Analysts emphasize that such actions could severely impact Ukraine's economy and national security.
The intensification of Russian assaults on Ukraine's logistics and infrastructure could destabilize the nation for years to come. Given the current trajectory, Ukraine must brace for the challenges these threats pose. Moscow's escalating military activity underscores the urgent need to bolster defenses and revise security strategies to safeguard critical infrastructure.
