Veterans are denied benefits - scandal in Odesa region.
In the Bolhrad district, veterans are denied preferential travel despite funds being allocated from the regional budget for these services. Members of the regional council are demanding that the Odesa Regional State Administration address this issue.
Veterans demand preferential travel
The public union of veterans has filed a complaint with the regional council due to the lack of proper preferential travel in any community of the Bolhrad district.
In particular, in the city of Bolhrad, only one ticket is issued per year for a trip to Odesa. In Artsyz, drivers do not allow beneficiaries on public transport at all. Chapir stated that the social protection department of the Odesa Regional State Administration ignores the problem. Local deputies have sent official requests with rationalization proposals, however, the situation has not improved.
For these categories of citizens, preferential travel is vital. I am upset and will address this issue more categorically and demand that it be resolved substantively. Let me remind you that the provision of these social services is the responsibility of local budgets. This is not only the budget of the community but also the regional budget,
said the head of the Odesa regional council's health committee, Dmytro Chapir.
Recently, we wrote about for public transport in August. And also about on the way to the border.
Ukrainian veterans are advocating for solutions to the issue of preferential travel for themselves in the Bolhrad district. Members of the regional council are demanding that the Odesa Regional State Administration intervene immediately. This situation highlights the importance of social support for veterans and the need for timely resolution of their problems.
