President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Friedrich Merz on his victory in the Bundestag elections and expressed hope for further cooperation to protect lives and strengthen Europe.
In a message on social media, the head of state emphasized that the election results are a clear voice of the voters and have great significance for Europe.
Congratulations to CDU/CSU and Friedrich Merz on the victory in the Bundestag elections. A clear voice of the voters, and we see how important this is for Europe. We count on continuing our joint efforts with Germany to protect lives and bring real peace to Ukraine, as well as to strengthen Europe.
Zelensky emphasized that Europe needs to be able to defend itself, develop its industries, and achieve necessary results.
Europe needs joint successes, and successes will bring even more unity to Europe,' the president emphasized.
