Explosion in the center of Rivne: suspicion of an attempted terrorist act
In the center of Rivne, on Kyivska Street, an incident occurred on March 20 that may be an attempted terrorist act. According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred due to a homemade explosive device that was in the car, near one of the shopping malls in the city. The driver and passenger of the car were injured and taken to the hospital.
The Security Service of Ukraine has already initiated criminal proceedings regarding this explosion, considering it an attempted terrorist act. An investigation is currently underway together with the national police to clarify the circumstances of the incident and to identify those who might have been involved in the explosion.
The fire that broke out in the car has been completely extinguished and there are no casualties among people. The investigation continues to determine the cause of the explosion and the fire.
Several eyewitnesses reported that just before the fire, an explosion was heard.
