Series of explosions in Penza: GUR reports on the shutdown of key oil pipelines

According to inkorr.com: A series of explosions rocked the Russian city of Penza, leading to the halt of the single system of trunk oil pipelines. According to the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, at least four explosions occurred in the railway district of Penza on September 8 around 4 a.m.

Two pipes of the trunk gas pipeline with a capacity of 2 million barrels per day have ceased to operate, - it is reported.

Additionally, two pipes of the regional gas pipeline were damaged. Military facilities receiving gas through these trunk lines were involved in Russia's aggressive actions against Ukraine.

Training at energy enterprises

After the explosions, local media reported 'planned trainings' at energy facilities where emergency services were operating. Residents were assured that there was no need to panic and to ignore speculation on social media regarding the explosions.

As a result of the explosions in Penza, the oil pipelines were disconnected from management, posing a threat to the supply of natural gas to certain military facilities in occupied Crimea and eastern Ukraine.

These explosions demonstrate an increased risk to the infrastructure involved in Russia's war crimes. Such incidents may likely affect the ability of Russian troops to conduct combat operations, as dependence on energy resources is critically important for their operational activity. An investigation into this case may provide additional information about the situation in the region.
