According to the State Statistics Service, a significant increase in prices for products and services is expected in Ukraine in 2025. As of January this year, inflation amounted to 12.9%, with food products and utility services experiencing the highest price increases.

The National Bank of Ukraine reports that the peak of inflation will occur in the second quarter of 2025, and by the end of the year, the price growth rate will decrease to 8.4%. The main reason for the price increase is the poor harvest of 2024, caused by heat and drought, leading to a loss of 30-40% of the root crops harvest.

As early as January 2025, the prices of onions and potatoes exceeded last year's levels by 33.9%.

Dairy products have also significantly increased in price. Prices for cheese and butter have risen by 17.5% and 33.9%, respectively, due to raw material shortages and a decrease in cattle population by 8%.

Prices for bakery products have increased by 20.3% due to a 22% rise in flour prices. The low wheat harvest in 2024 is the reason for this. Prices for buckwheat have risen by 15-18% due to a 12% decrease in sown areas.

There is a significant imbalance in the utilities sector. According to estimates by the NBU, the price of gas for the population should be 12-14 UAH/m³, not the current 7.99 UAH.

Mobile operators plan to raise tariffs by 25-35% in the first quarter of 2025 due to rising electricity costs and the need to restore damaged infrastructure.

Additionally, online shopping in Ukraine has increased by 50%. Some categories of goods are experiencing record demand.
