President Zelensky refused the idea of withdrawing the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Donbas in exchange for a ceasefire, emphasizing that this is a final decision. He underlined the importance of resolving territorial issues at the level of leaders and stressed the unchanging constitutional principles of the country.
'My position on the withdrawal of the Armed Forces from Donbas is unchanging. Ukraine will not leave Donbas in exchange for a ceasefire. This is a final decision after today's negotiations with European leaders. As long as the Constitution of the state is unchangeable, the position of the guarantor of the Constitution cannot be changeable.'
Zelensky also emphasized that all participants in the negotiations agreed with this strategy, highlighting the importance of discussing territorial issues at the collective level.
The Ukrainian president reaffirmed his unchanging position regarding Donbas, stressing the importance of adhering to constitutional principles and resolving territorial issues at the level of international leaders.
