According to recent geolocation images, Russian forces are again advancing in the Donbass, particularly in the areas of Svatove, Kreminna, Siversk, and Vuhledar. This was reported by analysts in a report from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Combat operations on Russian territory

According to reports, Russian forces recently advanced on the main Ukrainian thrust in the Kursk region during the fighting on November 3.

Russian war correspondents claim that their forces advanced across fields to the north and northwest of Pohrebky (northwest of Sudzha) and near Novaya Sorochina (immediately south of Pohrebky), as well as captured a defensive line to the east of Malaya Loknia (south of Novaya Sorochina). However, ISW has no visual confirmation of these claims.

Neither Russian nor Ukrainian sources reported any ground battles in the Hlushkivskyi district.

Kharkiv Oblast

The enemy continued its offensive operations in the areas of Vovchansk and Khatyshcha on November 2 and 3, but did not advance.

Luhansk Oblast

Geolocation footage from November 3 indicates that Russian troops have recently advanced on the eastern outskirts of Andriivka (west of Svatove) and in the northern part of Terniv (northwest of Kreminna).

Donetsk Oblast

Geolocation footage from November 2 shows Ukrainian Armed Forces repelling a mechanized RF attack involving 120 Russians, 7 tanks, 13 IFVs, and 2 MT-LBs south of Veselyy and south of Ivano-Dar'yevka (both southeast of Siversk). According to this footage, the enemy in this area has made little progress.

It was reported that Russian forces continued to attack in Chasove Yar and the vicinity of Predtechnoye on November 2 and 3, but did not advance.

Russian sources, including the Russian Ministry of Defense, claimed that Russians captured Leonidivka (southwest of Toretsk) on November 1, but ISW could not independently verify these claims.

On November 2 and 3, the enemy continued to attack east and southeast of Toretsk in the area of Shcherbynivka.

Russian sources claimed that Russians advanced south and southeast of Pokrovsk on November 1 and 2, but ISW did not observe visual confirmation of these claims.

Russian war correspondents claimed that Russian forces advanced to the east of Novooleksiivka (south of Pokrovsk and west of Selydovo) and to the southeast of Lysivka (also southeast of Pokrovsk). Russian Ministry of Defense stated on November 3 that Russian forces had captured Vyshneve (west of Selydovo), although ISW did not observe any Russian forces operating in the northwest part of the locality at the Time of this publication.

Analysts write that the enemy continued its advance:

  • east of Pokrovsk in the area of Mykolaivka, Prominya, Sukha Balka, and Myroliubivka;
  • south of Pokrovsk in the vicinity of Vyshneve;
  • southeast of Pokrovsk in the area of Kruty Yar, Selydovo, Sukhy Yar, and Novohrodivka.

Geolocation footage published on November 2 showed that units of the 33rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the RF advanced in the eastern part of Antonivka (northeast of Vuhledar), and units of the 36th Separate Motorized Brigade captured Maksymivka (northwest of Vuhledar).

According to geolocation footage from November 3, Russians also captured Katerinivka (northeast of Vuhledar) and advanced to the bridge east of Yelyzavetivka (northwest of Katerinivka).

Russian war correspondents also claimed that Russian forces advanced in the fields between Maksymivka and Yasna Polyana (southeast of Maksymivka), but ISW did not observe visual confirmation of these claims.

On November 2 and 3, the enemy continued to advance:

  • north of Vuhledar in the area of Trudova;
  • northeast of Vuhledar in the area of Antonivka, Katerinivka, and Kostiantynivka;
  • northwest of Vuhledar in the area of Maksymivka.

"Southern Axis"

Russian war correspondents claimed on November 3 that RF forces advanced northeast and expanded 1.5 km northwest of Rovno, northwest of Verbovne (southeast of Rovno), and 1.2 km deep along a five-kilometer front southwest of Novopokrovka (northeast of Rovno).

However, ISW has not identified visual confirmation of these Russian claims.

On November 3, Russian forces conducted local ground attacks on the left bank of Kherson Oblast. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on November 2 and 3, Russians carried out offensive operations on the eastern shore of Kherson Oblast and in the delta of the Dnipro River in the areas of Kozache Tabory, Dnipryan, and the island of Kozatsky.
