Ukrainian Military Pay Overhaul: Monthly Salaries Now Range from $730 to $11,200.
New Payment Structure for Armed Forces
According to Novyny.live: Starting in July 2026, Ukraine has introduced a revamped system for calculating military compensation. Under the updated rules, the minimum monthly salary for service members is set at 30,000 hryvnias (approximately $730), while the maximum can reach up to 460,000 hryvnias (around $11,200). This reform aims to better support troops amid ongoing hostilities.
The base pay includes a fixed component of 20,000 hryvnias, supplemented by a mandatory motivation bonus of 10,000 hryvnias. Under the new framework, soldiers will earn extra for specific combat duties. For instance, holding captured positions pays 20,000 hryvnias per day, while storming enemy strongpoints nets 40,000 hryvnias per operation.
- 20,000 hryvnias per day for tasks on seized positions;
- 40,000 hryvnias for assaulting enemy positions.
Monthly bonuses also significantly boost total earnings. Personnel serving at command posts will receive an additional 50,000 hryvnias, while those handling other special assignments get 30,000 hryvnias. Furthermore, a reward of 100,000 hryvnias is offered for each captured Russian soldier, and 15,000 hryvnias for each confirmed kill with video evidence.
Boosting Morale and Strengthening the Army
The new pay scale represents a substantial increase in military compensation, designed to enhance motivation and better support the armed forces. These changes are critical for improving the social welfare of soldiers in a country enduring a difficult conflict.
Ukraine's adoption of this new military pay system underscores the government's commitment to improving service conditions, particularly during an ongoing war. Higher salaries could not only lift troop morale but also attract new recruits to the military.
Overall, these measures may play a key strategic role in bolstering the nation's defense capabilities.
