The National Security and Defense Council refutes fake news about a Russian landing in Odesa: what is really happening.
According to ТСН: In Odesa and the surrounding area, disinformation about a potential threat of a Russian landing and other alarming news regarding military actions is actively spreading, although the real situation is much calmer.
The situation is under control
Lieutenant Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council, reported this on Telegram.
“There is no military ground threat, and the Russians do not have the capabilities to conduct any operation from the sea; everything is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,”
— Kovalenko emphasized.
The enemy's main efforts
According to him, currently, Russian forces are focused on air strikes and creating a humanitarian catastrophe.
“At the same time, they are expending significant resources on local propaganda,”— he noted.
The importance of resilience and cooperation
The lieutenant stressed how important it is to ensure endurance and cooperation among all services:
“Energy workers are working, military personnel are working — many people are involved in repelling attacks, recovery, ensuring security, informational resilience, medicine, logistics.”
Appeal to residents
He also addressed the residents of Odesa:
“One can understand those who are tired. The cause of all misfortunes is Russia. But no European country could ensure such a pace of resistance and recovery in such difficult conditions of war.”
Kovalenko thanked the city's residents for their resilience:
“We will endure. And on my part, thank you, Odesans, for your resilience.”
Recall that it was previously reported about a massive attack by Russia on the port infrastructure of Odesa region, resulting in casualties and many injured.
This situation highlights the importance of accurate information in wartime, as disinformation can lead to panic among the population. Local authorities and the military are actively working to ensure safety and stability in the region, which is critically important for maintaining the morale of the people.
