According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian law enforcement detained two senior officers from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on March 16 on suspicion of bribery tied to the amber mining industry. The suspects are Oleh Tokarchuk, deputy head of the SBU’s Main Directorate in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, and Ihor Brik, deputy head of the SBU office in Rivne Oblast. Brik was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a $620,000 bribe—equivalent to roughly 27.33 million hryvnias. Tokarchuk and another deputy chief were apprehended during the receipt of a $60,000 bribe.
