Meeting of the President of Ukraine Zelensky with German Defense Minister Pistorius
During the fourth visit of the German Defense Minister to Ukraine, President Zelensky and Boris Pistorius held a meeting where they discussed important issues of military support and cooperation opportunities.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to Germany for its significant contribution to assisting Ukraine, which accounts for about 16% of the total aid from international partners. He particularly noted air defense systems such as Patriot, IRIS-T, and Gepard, which help protect the country's critical infrastructure.
The president emphasized the importance of the 'Ramstein' project, within which Germany and the USA demonstrate joint leadership. The parties discussed strengthening air defense, supplying ammunition, and the possibility of purchasing Ukrainian weapons based on the Danish model.
During the meeting, Boris Pistorius announced an order for Ukraine of 54 new self-propelled artillery systems RCH 155, which will be delivered as soon as possible due to their high efficiency and mobility.
The German Defense Minister also reported on the outcomes of the Group of 5 meeting in Warsaw, where defense ministers from five European countries created a new negotiation format to support security in Europe and assist Ukraine.
