Own Business: The Most Popular Areas of Entrepreneurship Identified.


The Ministry of Economy reported that 444 Ukrainians became winners of the fourth wave of the 'Own Business' program in 2025. They will receive grants for starting or expanding their business totaling 106 million UAH.
'With state support, entrepreneurs work, pay taxes to the budget, create jobs, and strengthen our economy. 5550 grant recipients have already paid into the budget taxes and fees in the amount of the received grants,' said the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko.
Among the recipients of microgrants in the fourth wave, 57% are women, 35% are men, and 8% are legal entities. Over 70% of them have higher education. The largest number of grant recipients is located in Lviv (57), Ivano-Frankivsk (43), Kharkiv (39), Kyiv (38), and Rivne (31) regions. Most grant recipients plan to spend the received funds on purchasing necessary equipment for their business activities.
The most popular sectors for grant recipients in the fourth wave are:
- wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles - 150 people;
- temporary accommodation and food service - 64 people;
- provision of other services - 48 people;
- manufacturing industry - 47 people.
We remind you that under the 'Own Business' grant program, Ukrainians can receive microgrants ranging from 50 to 250 thousand UAH to start or expand their business. Both active entrepreneurs and individuals without experience in this field can receive grants. To obtain a grant of over 75 thousand UAH, it is necessary to create 1-2 jobs depending on the grant amount. Ukrainians under 25 years old can receive a grant of up to 150 thousand UAH on the condition of registering as a private entrepreneur, but it is not mandatory to create jobs. Entrepreneurs from Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region can receive grants of up to 300 thousand UAH or 500 thousand UAH depending on the grant amount and create 1-2 jobs.
