24 Ukrainians under 25 became winners of the youth grant program 'Own Business'
The Ministry of Economy reported that 24 Ukrainians aged under 25 became winners of the youth grant program 'Own Business' following the results of the second wave in 2025. According to Deputy Minister of Economy Tetiana Berezhna, they will receive 3.3 million UAH to start their own business. In total, 137 young entrepreneurs received a positive decision on grant applications.
According to Tetiana Berezhna: 'Already 137 young Ukrainians have become winners of the grant program 'Own Business' and will receive 20 million UAH to start their own businesses. We support young people who want to succeed in entrepreneurship and help them start their own business. Young entrepreneurs are ready to develop various areas of business. In particular, the winners of the second wave plan to open a mini-bakery, café, recording studio, garden center, start English language courses, a rock climbing club, provide repair services for agricultural machinery, photo and video shooting, and accounting services.'
Most grant recipients from the second wave of the program in 2025 are among the youth from Kyiv, Kyiv region, Rivne, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. Of these, 58% are women and 42% are men.
It is worth noting that according to the 'Own Business' grant program, young Ukrainians aged 18 to 25 can apply for a micro-grant of up to 150,000 UAH to start a business. After receiving a positive decision on the grant, they must register as an individual entrepreneur. This program does not require them to create jobs.
The entrepreneur must return the grant amount by using the taxes and fees paid to the budget within three years. After that, they can again receive a grant from the state under the 'Own Business' program on general terms up to 250,000 UAH and with the obligation to create at least 2 jobs. The grant can be used to purchase or lease equipment, purchase raw materials and supplies, and rent premises. Grant applications are submitted through the Diia portal along with a business plan. The program is administered by the State Employment Service.
