Ukraine’s Navy Destroys Russian Patrol Ship 'Izumrud' Near Novorossiysk Using Sargan-3000 Drone System.
Russian Warship 'Izumrud' Destroyed
According to Espreso.tv: Ukraine’s naval forces have eliminated the Russian border patrol vessel 'Izumrud' close to the port of Novorossiysk, employing the unmanned Sargan-3000 system. Launched in 2014, the ship measures 62.5 meters in length and has a displacement of roughly 630 to 750 tons. It can reach a top speed of 27 knots. Notably, on November 25, 2018, the 'Izumrud' was involved in an attack against Ukrainian Navy vessels in the Kerch Strait.
Frontline Developments
As of July 14, Russian forces had launched 84 attacks on Ukrainian military positions. Shelling occurred across multiple regions of Ukraine. In the Sumy area, the following settlements came under fire:
- Korenyok
- Luzhky
- Khodyne
- Pustohorod
Airstrikes were also recorded near the Tovstodubove district.
Several direct clashes with the enemy took place along the front line. On the Northern Slobozhanskyi and Kursk axes, two engagements were reported. In the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction, occupiers conducted four assault operations. On the Kupiansk front, the enemy attempted to advance three times. In the Lyman sector, Russian forces tried to push forward on ten occasions, while on the Sloviansk axis, they made 20 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units.
On the Kramatorsk front, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled an attack. Meanwhile, in the Kostiantynivka direction, occupiers tried to breach defenses ten times. Since the start of the day, the Pokrovsk axis has seen 17 enemy attempts to push back Ukrainian troops, and four assaults were recorded in the Oleksandrivka sector.
On the Huliaipole front, defense forces successfully fended off 11 enemy attacks, while in the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian troops stopped one hostile attempt. In contrast, no enemy assault attempts were reported in the Prydniprovia sector. Overall, the frontline situation remains tense, with active combat operations ongoing from both sides.
The destruction of the Russian ship 'Izumrud' underscores the growing effectiveness of Ukraine’s Navy amid the war. It could also impact Russia’s military operations in the Black Sea and its maritime logistics.
At the same time, intense ground combat shows that the conflict continues at a high level of ferocity, with both sides suffering losses, indicating a stalemate in resolving the conflict at this stage.
