Drivers explained the meaning of the mysterious numbers in the license: what limits the code '78'.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained to Ukrainians the meaning of the code '78' in the driver's license. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, this code indicates that the license holder can only drive vehicles with an automatic transmission. This restriction applies to those citizens who took the practical exam specifically in such vehicles.
In order to be entitled to drive a vehicle with a manual transmission, drivers need to undergo additional training at a driving school and retake the practical exam at the Ministry of Internal Affairs service center. After successfully passing the exam, the driver will receive a new license without the specified restriction.
This labeling system is also used in EU countries, which corresponds to Ukraine's course on European integration and the harmonization of national standards with European ones.
Thus, the code '78' in the driver's license has a specific meaning and indicates restrictions regarding vehicles with an automatic transmission.
