Stephen King on Trump and Maduro: If you think he has hit rock bottom - he is falling lower.
According to ТСН: American writer Stephen King has critically commented on U.S. President Donald Trump in connection with the kidnapping of pro-Russian Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro. He drew an analogy between Trump’s attitude toward Maduro and his attitude toward another dictator - Russian President Vladimir Putin.
King believes that the U.S. focuses only on its own interests, not on the 'defense of democracy.'
'Trump has fallen below the bottom'
The writer noted that Maduro, whom Trump has 'captured,' is indeed not a democratic leader. However, Trump treats Putin quite differently. King reminded how a red carpet was laid out for the Russian president in Alaska.
'Maduro is not a good guy, I agree. But neither is Putin, and Trump laid a red carpet for him.'
In King's opinion, this is just Trump’s political game. The real reason for U.S. actions is not the 'fight against drug trafficking,' but control over Venezuela's oil resources.
'It's not about drugs, it's about oil (which is, in fact, a drug). Just when it seems Trump has hit the bottom, he falls even lower.'
Previously, King already called Trump a 'traitor' who 'adores Putin.'
'Just wanted to say that Trump is a treacherous, Putin-loving idiot!'
Stephen King's comments reflect the concerns of many Americans about Trump's policies, which they believe contradict the principles of democracy. Discussions around the role of the U.S. in Venezuela and its attitude toward Russia remain relevant in light of current geopolitical events. These issues raise questions not only about foreign policy but also about the moral foundations on which American democracy is based.
